The District Commissioner has decided that the District Badge needs a face lift – and who better to design a new badge than the cubs & scouts representing the district themselves!?

So a competition has been launched to design a new district badge.

This is the current district badge….

Are you CREATIVE?? Can you improve it???

If so, get busy and enter the competition!

ENTRIES MUST BE ON A5 WHITE CARDBOARD AND HANDED TO KATH OR AKELA ON OR BEFORE THE 18TH APRIL 2008.

Remember:
- To write your name and contact details on the back.
- The design should represent our district in some way.
- The design should be done by one of the district’s cubs or scouts.
- It needs to be a distinctive and recognizable badge which will be embroidered, so can’t be too detailed or have too many different colours.
- Be creative & have fun!

JUDGING WILL TAKE DURING THE WEEK OF 21-25TH APRIL, AND A PRIZE WILL BE AWARDED TO THE DESIGNER OF THE SELECTED BADGE, ALONG WITH PRIZES TO THE TWO RUNNERS UP.

6th Rondebosch Howl – 2007 Vol 2

Thank you to all those who donated clothes, toys and books to the Holy Cross Children’s Home. We delivered two packed cars full of goods on 20th October. Michael Lawrenson and Jason Hunter went along to deliver these on behalf of the scouts and met around 90 children of all ages and races who call this home. A lot of them have parents or relatives, but have been removed from their own homes because they are not safe there. It should really make you appreciate your own parents. Sister Yolande and her team of helpers are doing a fantastic job and we saw lots of happy smiling faces.

6th Rondebosch Howl – 2007 Vol 1

Scouting is all about raising responsible citizens and providing opportunities for
leadership, and team work, in a fun and adventurous environment. Our cubs and scouts have certainly been adventurous over the last few months, hikes, camps, and surfing, just to mention a few activities. A special welcome to our new Scouts: Michael and Nina Lawrenson. We have lots of new cubs, and want to give them a very special welcome too. I know that they will learn lots, and have some great adventures. If growing up is about making memories, then 6th Rondebosch is the right place to do it.

The 6^th Rondebosch group meets at the Round Table Community Center in Chess Road, Claremont, every Friday.

Cub scouts meet from 17:30 to 19:00. Scouts meet from 19:00 to 20:30.

The troop welcomes new members, so if you want to try something exciting, or just want to come for fun, please contact us.
